I have a !horrible relationship with laundry. A few years ago we moved the machines from right off the kitchen to the basement. It has been good and bad.
I wanted them moved because the little hall was too little so the laundry was always overflowing into the kitchen. I also was never away from it.
Having it in the basement has helped the kitchen mess a ton. However, it is now so easy to avoid going downstairs to work on it.
I wish I were one of those people that just always did a load or two a day. From start to finish.
