The Endless Sort!

Papers, papers and then MORE papers! They are endless! Every child brings home a stack almost daily. Being in elementary school, Justin has the most.

I fail at papers. Some papers need to be looked at and thrown away. Others signed and returned to school. Others need to be saved for later. Still other papers need to be filed in a safe spot.

Managing papers has always made me crazy! So, sadly, the piles get deep!

Then comes the sort- having to go through every pile to make sure what is what. Then making each child look at the pile to see if there is stuff to save.

Now the saving part is also a mess. We have a massive bulletin board. It is awesome -- and awful! Things get pinned up and then the time comes and goes and that item isn't removed. So the sort again!

Years ago, I started a drawer for each child of things that need saved. Now generally, I am the one putting stuff in there. Things like certificates , awards, special cards, etc.   I created these drawers upstairs because I wanted a place with easy access- unlike the drawers downstairs (that take 16 seconds to get to).

These upstairs drawers are now full! That means I must go through them and SORT!

Sorting-a necessary evil!!!

Basketball 2014

Justin was so excited to play basketball this year.  It was the first season for him.  He was on a team with boys that played last year and also others whom it was their first year.  He really seemed to enjoy it.  He would run up and down that court like it was nothing!

They had a little boy on the team that will be a High School basketball star!  The first couple of games the score was about 48-8 and 3/4 of the baskets were from him.  After the second game they stopped keeping our score at 25, even though the boys new the real score.  One game the little guy wasn't there and it was a much more even game!  About 28-22--Justin's team did win!

Justin started to improve with his dribbling and running.  Hopefully, he will spend some time playing outside on our basketball court.  It has been rarely used for awhile!!!

Good Job Bubbs!

February highlights

My sweet niece has been named the "blog post reminder!"  She sends me a little note telling me that it has been a week, it has been two weeks, "you should post before February is over."  I actually really appreciate her trying to keep me focused.  These days I need all the focus help I can get!!

February had a few different things that I don't want us to forget about.

*Justin played and finished up his first basketball season
*Dave and I went on an amazing cruise.
*Mitch was answered(he did the asking) to the prom

-I'm sure there is more!  I will have to look through my phone and get pictures from there!  That is a project in and of its own!  It has like 1200 pictures on it--even though most are backed up on the computer!  It makes my phone run so slow!!
