and you know what? read your previous post: you said it out loud. sure, i know you've been musing on running for several posts but in the prior one, you stated what you wanted - to become a runner. And today you ran THREE miles. that is a lot. congratulations.
you left me a really nice comment about liking my writing the other day. i want you to know how much that meant to me because i really struggled with that particular post that you read...so your saying that was especially meaningful to me.
rosie, i love this blog (yours, here) and i think you, like all of us, are just doing the best that we can with what we've got. maybe we (me) don't always make the best use of our (my) time, but we are inherently good moms even if we don't do things seemingly as well as other moms appear to...we are all different. i feel like such a slacker mom in so many ways, but i am who i am - certainly there are things i can change and improve upon, but you are Rosie and I am Jeannie and therefore unique in the ways we mother our kids. i feel so many of the same contradictory feelings that you describe but honestly, i am also dispensing with all that and focussing on being loving, and worrying less about what i cook (not much) and how much overt "teaching" i do, etc. etc. i'm going long on this but i do understand what you're writing about these past few posts; you're not alone in thinking about these things! i hope this makes sense.
